UK Government proposes policy to prevent dependents of foreign students to come

 Home secretary  of Britain,Suella Braverman just recently announced that  from January2024,  dependents of foreign students would not be allowed to come  to UK. Under the current students visa which commenced in 2021, Masters students are allowed to come to UK with their dependents,After successful completion of their studies they can apply for Two Years Post Study Visa- with the sum of 715 pounds-and stay back and apply for jobs. With the new proposal,In January 2024 students that come into UK would not be allowed to switch to work visa until they complete their studies.From January 2024 Only PHD students would be allowed to bring in their families. Last year 2022 Nigeria topped the list of countries with the highest number of dependents with  about 60,923  dependents entering the UK.India came second with about 39,000 dependents and followed by Pakistan,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. UK launches 24-hour visa service in Nigeria

The British Government has launched Super Priority Visa Service in Nigeria to allow customers to process their applications within 24 hours. The British High Commission, on its website, said the new service was to particularly meet the needs of those who required urgent service to travel. The High Commission quoted the British High Commissioner, Paul Arkwright, as welcoming the introduction of the Super Priority Visa service in Nigeria. “I am pleased to see the Super Priority Visa service being launched in Nigeria. “This comes with an additional cost but is designed to give greater flexibility to our customers and underlines our strong commitment to make improvements to the visa services we offer. “We expect this new service to be particularly useful for business. Brexit:Uk to grant Nigerians fast track visas

The United Kingdom, UK, is making plans to amend its border control system to benefit citizens from 52 Commonwealth countries, including Nigeria. Forty-five members of the UK parliament said Commonwealth countries may get fast-tracked visas to the UK after Brexit if the proposal sails through. UK Telegraph reports that the suggestion was made in a letter addressed to the home secretary, Amber Rudd.
